Nice work but you can do better

The skin looks rubbery, the neck is stiff and too thin
I like the colors and composition, although the overall result looks static

For what its worth I feel that almost all your works lack some textures,
and have an artificial feel to it. Of course it's your way of painting,
But you're on the border of greatness, just needs a little push forward

Interesting reading comments about this painting. I don't know how to comment unless I know that it is real paint on canvas or board or paper, and I don't know how anyone can judge without knowing these details. How can a virtual software artist judge a canvas artist and so how can I judge a software expert? I am drawn to the face tones and fades as a guide for my own future projects. I am also aware of the content of different cultures present in the style of this painting. I do agree with the 'unreal' assessment but digital production cannot yet represent real artwork or music. Having said that, the unreal effect is very difficult to achieve on a canvas or other real materials; if this is real then it is excellent. I guess realism is making a comeback due to the availability and popularity of printed artwork and photo to canvas sales. As a teacher, I learned how to push talent without giving specific grades. Art can go in so many directions and critics tend to approve only that which relates to their own taste. I just want to say, go with your own flow
